Sandblasting is a finishing process for aesthetic purposes. In this process, a highly pressurized air gun is used to sandblast the machined part with tiny glass beads, which effectively remove material and ensure a smooth surface. It gives aluminum a satin or matte finish. The main process parameters for sandblasting are the size of the glass beads and the amount of air pressure used. Use this process only when the dimensional tolerances of the part are not critical. Other finishing processes include polishing and painting.
