CNC (Computer Numerical Control) is short for computer numerical control machine tools, which are a type of automated machine tools controlled by programs.
The control system can logically process programs with control codes or other symbolic instructions, decode them through a computer, thereby making the machine tool execute the specified actions, and process the blank material into semi-finished or finished parts through cutting tools. The Virtual CNC, an intelligent reverse simulation system for CNC machining, is a software that simulates actual CNC controllers and machine tools through a reverse post-processor and virtual machine, and inspects the CNC machining process on a computer. It simulates CNC machining programs based on machine, tool, blank, and fixture information and can identify errors in the machining process.
Numerical Control (English name: Numerical Control, abbreviated as NC) technology refers to the technology that uses digital instructions composed of numbers, text, and symbols to control the movement of one or multiple mechanical equipment. Numerical control generally uses general-purpose or special-purpose computers to achieve digital program control, hence numerical control is also known as Computer Numerical Control (CNC), abbreviated as CNC, and is generally referred to as CNC abroad.
Control Unit of CNC Machine Tools
The operation and monitoring of CNC machine tools are all completed in this control unit, which is the brain of the CNC machine tool. Compared with conventional machine tools, CNC machine tools have the following characteristics:
● High machining precision and stable machining quality;
● Capable of multi-coordinate linkage, can machine complex-shaped parts;
● When the parts to be machined change, generally only the CNC program needs to be changed, saving production preparation time;
● The machine tool itself has high precision and rigidity, and can choose favorable machining parameters, resulting in high production efficiency (generally 3 to 5 times that of conventional machine tools);
● Higher requirements for the quality of operators and even higher technical requirements for maintenance personnel.
