Process requirements in the electroplating process of alloy steel castings

Apr 01, 2022

From the perspective of the production of alloy steel castings, it is indeed necessary to go through a variety of technological processes. The entire production process, especially its electroplating link, needs to be operated in accordance with the corresponding technological requirements. Then, the technological requirements in the electroplating process what is it?

1. When silver-plating large alloy steel castings, it must be charged under the tank, and the impact current density should be used to electroplate for 5 minutes under the premise of shaking the workpiece, and then it will be converted to normal current density.

2. The passivation treatment after silver plating should strengthen the cleaning, rinse in running water for 10 to 20 minutes, then wash with hot water, and dry immediately. The oven temperature can be controlled at 100 to 150 °C, and the time is a little longer to prevent mildew.

3. The cleaning of each process should be clean to prevent the solution remaining in the pores from affecting the next process.

4. The actual surface area of alloy steel castings is many times larger than the calculated surface area, the impact current density during electroplating is about 3 times higher than that of ordinary parts, and the pre-plating time is also longer than that of ordinary parts.

5. When pre-plating copper, the parts and the hanger should be shaken frequently to ensure the uniformity of the color of the coating and prevent the appearance of the coating from being affected by the appearance of the silver-plated phenomenon.

The above is the introduction of the process requirements in the electroplating process of alloy steel castings. In the electroplating process, as long as we follow the above requirements, the effect after electroplating will be very good. No matter what the operation is, we should keep the corresponding requirements in mind.
