Mold Injection Molding And Blow Molding

Feb 27, 2025

The processes of injection molding and blow molding are different. Blow molding involves injection followed by blowing (inject + blow), while injection molding involves injection followed by pressing (inject + press). Blow molding always leaves a head from the blow pin, whereas injection molding always has a gate section.

Generally speaking, injection molding produces solid bodies, while blow molding produces hollow bodies. The surface of blow-molded products is usually uneven, and they have a blow hole.

Injection molding refers to the injection molding of thermoplastic materials. This method involves melting the plastic material and then injecting it into the mold cavity.

Blow molding, also known as hollow blow molding, is a rapidly developing plastic processing method.
